Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday announced the Civil Services Examination 2023 results. Aditya Srivastava secured AIR 1, Animesh Pradhan secured AIR 2 and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured AIR 3 in UPSC CSE 2023. As soon as UPSC CSE 2023 Results were announced on Tuesday, Aditya Srivastava started to buzz on social media with the entire India wondering about the wonder man who topped one of the world's toughest exams UPSC CSE 2023. It was revealed that the USPC 2023 topper Aditya Srivastava actually quit a high-paying job in an American company to pursue his dream of becoming an IAS officer. 

 

As per the UPSC topper's father quoted by a Hindi daily, in the year 2021, Aditya left his job with an annual package of Rs 40 lakh and started preparing for UPSC.  First, he started preparing for UPAC along with his job, but due to lack of preparation, he failed the exam, after which he decided to leave the job and prepare for the UPSC CSE exam. On digging more, True Scoop News found out that Aditya Srivastava worked for Goldman Sachs for 15 months before he decided to quit and pursue UPSC.

 

For the unversed, in a podcast with Raj Shamani, an IAS officer Abhishek Singh revealed that the average salary of an IAS officer. IAS Abhishek stated that the average salary of an IAS Officer is Rs 1 lakh plus perks. In the perks, you get a house, car, and house help. The houses that IAS officers get are quite extravagant given by the Government of India. If you posted in a small district then usually the biggest bungalow is of an IAS officer. As per Abhishek, an IAS officer can serve till the age of 60. 

 

Coming back to UPSC CSE 2023 topper, Aditya hails from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow and is an IIT Kanpur gold medalist. Aditya pursued both a BTech and MTech from IIT Kanpur. Aditya Srivastava completed his schooling at CMS Lucknow's Aliganj branch. He was a topper in Class 12 as well. He scored 95% marks. Let us tell you that Aditya Srivastava worked for Goldman Sachs for 15 months before he decided to quit and pursue UPSC. He wanted to work on the grassroots level and uplift the society. 

 

Aditya's father is reportedly an assistant audit officer at the Comptroller and Auditor of India.
