God of Chaos, What is God of Chaos, God of Chaos meteorite, God of Chaos meteorite Earth Collison, Meteorite Earth Collison November 13: God of Chaos became a topic of discussion on Tuesday after multiple reports claimed that the giant meteorite may pass closer to the Earth. God of Chaos meteorite has been a concern for NASA for quite some time which has continuously cautioned the world. On Tuesday, multiple reports suggested that the God of Chaos meteorite is approaching Earth on November 13.
TOI reported that the giant meteorite will pass close to Earth on November 13, 2024. NASA scientists have flagged concern in case the meteorite changes its path and hit the Earth due to any external reasons. While talking about the size of this meteorite, scientists have argued that its average size is as big as the Empire State Building. Its size is 450*170 metres and if it touches the earth, the explosion caused by it will be as big as a hundred atom bombs falling on the Earth. NASA is worried about it because it has been a threat to the Earth since 2004. This meteorite has been named Space Rock 99942 Apophis by the NASA.
As per NASA's official website, "When it was discovered in 2004, Apophis was identified as one of the most hazardous asteroids that could impact Earth. But that impact assessment changed after astronomers tracked Apophis, and its orbit became better determined. Apophis quickly gained notoriety as an asteroid that could pose a serious threat to Earth when astronomers predicted that it would come uncomfortably close in 2029. Thanks to additional observations of Apophis, the risk of an impact in 2029 was later ruled out, as was the potential impact risk posed by another close approach in 2036. Until March 2021, however, a small chance of impact in 2068 still remained."
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the same Apophis asteroid, about which ISRO Chief Dr. S. Somnath had warned that it is dangerous. This asteroid will not hit the Earth in the year 2029. However, it will pass by. Actually, due to the gravity of the Earth, the face of Apophis will be peeled off. It will be badly hurt. Earthquake tremors will be felt. There will be landslides on its surface.
The name Apophis is named after the Egyptian god Apep. This god is considered the lord of chaos there. Asteroid Apophis is 1230 feet wide. It is equal to about three and a half football fields. It may collide with the Earth in the year 2068.
