What happened to Luis Manuel Lomeli?
As per Mexican media reports. on October 28, Luis Manuel Lomeli was heading to the gym in Leon in his Dodge Ram pickup truck in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Suddenly, bike-borne gunmen pulled up beside him as he was driving to the gym for a workout session, before firing at him.
Notably, Luis Manuel Lomeli was also known as "El Charro" or "The Cowboy" to fans. Notably, Lomeli tried to escape by throwing the truck into reverse. However, his attempt failed as his truck crashed from behind. Reportedly, Lomeli had already dodged one assassination attempt five months ago when his arm was just grazed by a hitman's bullet. As of now, Mexican Police have started their investigation.
For the unversed, Luis Manuel Lomeli won Mr. Mexico in 2008, the highest bodybuilding achievement in the country. Following that Luis Manuel Lomeli also became a champion of the International Federation of Bodybuilding. However, in 2017, Lomeli took a break from bodybuilding on medical advice.
