Musheer Khan Accident: In a shocking development, 19-Year-old star batter of Mumbai Ranji Cricket Team Musheer Khan on Friday was hospitalised after meeting with a deadly car accident. Musheer Khan Accident reports suggest that the 19-year-old cricketer was travelling to Lucknow from Azamgarh to take part in the Irani Cup 2024 match for Mumbai against the Rest of India (ROI) team. For the unversed, Musheer Khan is the younger brother of Team India star batter Sarfaraz Khan. Musheer Khan was slated to play the Irani Cup. 2023-24 Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai will face Ruturaj Gaikwad’s ROI team at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium from October 1-5.
What happened to Musheer Khan?
As per reports, Musheer Khan was travelling with his father Naushad Khan, and two others from Azamgarh to Lucknow at Yamuna Expressway on Friday when his car met with a divider and overturned. (Musheer Khan Health Update) While his father and two others had minor scratches, the 19-year-old is said to have experienced concussion and pain behind his neck. Musheer Khan was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and according to the doctor who attended him, Musheer could take at least 16 weeks to recover and may be carrying a possible fracture, which has yet to be ascertained.
Notably, Musheer Khan was among the group of players who were expected to fly to Australia as India A player.
An MCA official was quoted saying, "He met with an accident last night and will miss the Irani Cup. He will be flying back to Mumbai on Sunday. The medical team of MCA and BCCI is monitoring his situation. The BCCI will be doing another round of medical tests and scan once he returns."
