What happened to Roberta Correa?

As per local media reports, Roberta Correa died on October 13 and she was buried on October 16. Currently, the police are investigating her death as a possible manslaughter case.

As per local Brazilian media reports, Roberta had booked a fat removal treatment in Cosmópolis, Brazil, but began to feel unwell shortly after receiving anesthesia. To be precise, the endolaser procedure was carried out to remove fat and reduce sagging by using laser energy to heat the areas.

In general cases, the procedure reportedly is minimally invasive and has a quick recovery time. However, the 44-year-old  suffered a seizure shortly after the treatment began. Following that Roberta was rushed to the hospital from the clinic before the procedure could be completed, however, doctors could not save her.

When the authorities probed, they found out that the clinic where Roberta visited was unauthorized to carry out such medical procedure, hence the medical center had been closed down by the authorities.

A separate report quoted Roberta’s cousin Paola Eliza Lück de Paula. Paula claimed that the procedure went forward despite Roberta complaining of discomfort. Paula was quoted saying, "She started feeling chills, and from what we know, they said it was normal. The procedure began, and shortly after, presumably in pain or convulsing, she asked them to stop."
