Tirthanand Rao worked with comedian & actor Kapil Sharma during his initial days in the show named Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe. As per Tirthanand Rao's Live suicide attempt video, a woman is responsible for his current state as he was living with her in a 'live-in' relationship but she allegedly 'emotionally blackmailed' him and also 'extorted' money from him. Tirthanand Rao's suicide attempt has indeed sent shockwaves among his fans and they are eager to know who is the woman with whom he was living in a live-in relationship.
Addressing his fans on social media, Tirthanand revealed, "I am in debt of Rs 3-4 lakh because of this woman. I have known her since October last year. She had filed a police complaint against me in Bhayandar and I didn’t even know for what reason. Then she would also call me and say she wanted to meet." After informing his fans about the woman and the extortion by the woman, Tirthanand Rao took out a bottle of insect killer and drank it by pouring it into the glass. However, seeing Tirthanand Rao's attempted suicide video, his friends immediately reached the comedian's house where he found him in an unconscious state. Thereafter, they called the cops and rushed him to the hospital.

Coming back to Tirthanand Rao, it is not the first time the comedian has attempted suicide. In December 2021, Rao went live on his Facebook and also called up his assistant saying that he was taking drastic in life due to several reasons. He was quoted saying that he decided to take such drastic action due to his financial condition. He informed that he was not paid for his work which he did for two web series and therefore his financial condition is deteriorating with no savings at all.
