The Maharashtra government, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, has initiated the Ladla Bhai Yojana, a new initiative that aims to provide male students with stipends of up to ₹100000 contingent on their educational attainment.
In anticipation of the state assembly elections in December, this program, spearheaded by a political heavyweight, is extending the hugely popular Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme.
An official from the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation confirmed that the stipend amount will vary according to the beneficiaries' qualifications.
Education Level | Monthly Stipend |
12th Grade Pass | ₹6,000 |
Diploma Holders | ₹8,000 |
Graduates | ₹10,000 |
The scheme is designed to benefit approximately 1 million youths, with the Maharashtra government allocating an estimated ₹10,000 crore for its implementation, according to various reports.
Youth who are permanent residents of Maharashtra are eligible to apply. The scheme is open to those who have passed their 12th grade, are pursuing diploma courses, or are enrolled in undergraduate programs. Applicants must be over 18 years old and unemployed, coming from economically disadvantaged families.
By fostering independence and providing opportunities for jobs and apprenticeships, the Ladla Bhai Yojana seeks to instill self-reliance in young people. The plan for financial aid is anticipated to lower the rate of youth unemployment. Additionally, it encourages higher education by allowing students to use the funds for tuition fees and transportation.
Applicants need to provide a domicile certificate,
These procedures will help unemployed youth who wish to apply for the Ladla Bhai Yojana finish their registration.
Under the Ladla Bhai Yojana, young individuals will engage in a one-year apprenticeship in a factory setting, gaining valuable work experience that will enhance their employability.
Chief Minister Shinde emphasized that this initiative aims to develop a skilled workforce within the state. "The scheme will not only provide skilled workers to the state's industries but also to those across the nation. The government will financially support the youth during their apprenticeship to ensure they become adept in their roles," Shinde stated.
