The world is officially in an AI race, and tech giants like Google, Microsoft, X, and Meta are coming up with different types of generative AI models. While in April, ChatGPT broke the internet worldwide with its generative image AI in the form the Ghibli Art, in which people could generate anime-like images, Google has come up with Generative AI Veo 2 that can generate video based on your command. For example, imagine you're a teacher and you want a video for your class showing- "A baby elephant splashing in a river at sunset, with birds flying in the background." You just type that sentence, and VEO 3 will create a realistic video showing exactly that scene — no camera, actors, or editing software needed.
What is VEO 3?
VEO 3 is a powerful new video generation model created by Google DeepMind. Google in its blog explains that Veo 3 is its new state-of-the-art video generation model, not only improves on the quality of Veo 2, but for the first time, can also generate videos with audio — traffic noises in the background of a city street scene, birds singing in a park, even dialogue between characters.
The blog reads, "Veo 3 excels from text and image prompting to real-world physics and accurate lip syncing. It’s great at understanding; you can tell a short story in your prompt, and the model gives you back a clip that brings it to life. Veo 3 is available today for Ultra subscribers in the United States in the Gemini app and in Flow. It’s also available for enterprise users on Vertex AI."
YouTuber Dhruv Rathee recently posted a video and endorsed VEO 3 with live examples. Rathee shared the video with the caption, "AI Videos Just Got WAY Too Real! After Google’s release of its new Veo 3 model, it’s now possible to make AI videos with audio in them. It’s practically indistinguishable from reality now."
However, VEO 3 may be misused as well, and users may give unethical commands to generate a video and plant it online for fake narratives. Hence, the use of VEO 3 will dependent upon the users on how will they use it.
