Its been over two hours now and Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger are still down across globe with millions of users unable to send or receive messages.  


"We are aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience," Andy Stone, Facebook communications executive said in a tweet.



According to DownDetector, a website that tracks WhatsApp outages, 40 per cent users were unable to download the app, 30 per cent had trouble in sending messages and 22 per cent had problems with the web version.


However, there is no comment from the social media giant about what may be causing the problem or when these sites will be operational again


Although the Facebook communications executive said that the apps will start working soon, the netizens are having hard time, they cannot really pass their time and have been continuously peeping into their Facebook to know if its working again.

Meanwhile, not able to access social media giants Whatsapp and Facebook, many users jumped to Twitter to report the problem and shared various memes and GIPs  while making fun of Facebook family apps. 



A user wrote, it seems as if the time stopped. "We are really addicted to social media platforms Fb and Whatsapp that we are not able to digest this technical error. Calm down people and spend time with family".


Another user wrote, "First time I am feeling Whatsapp is India-made".
