The instant messaging application WhatsApp is continuously adding new features that make the user experience better. WhatsApp is now developing a feature that will enable users to chat using username by concealing their mobile number.
With this latest update, whatsapp users will have the option of selecting a different username in their profile, under whatsapp settings. Once this is done, they can find it easy to communicate with other people using the username and not their cell phone number. This aspect will provide more control to the users and at the same time it will emphasize privacy. This aspect will be operating similar to a social media such as Instagram where users are identified by username.
As per the information, this feature is still under testing process and it could be released to the people soon as well. This update will be significant in the near future as it will help to make WhatsApp user experience more safe and convenient.
What will be the mechanism of this feature?
To do this, the user will visit his profile section by hitting the Settings of WhatsApp.
In this case, under the name and 'About', you will receive a chance to choose a new 'Username'.
The user is allowed to select a username of his preference which is unique.
Once this is done the user can share the username rather than his number which will keep the privacy and the number will not be visible.
