Canada is one of the most ideal countries for Indian students, especially from Punjab who want to go overseas in search of new jobs or higher education. Almost every month a considerable number of youngsters migrate from India to Canada in search of a better life. But for the time being, the situation going of Canada has made the students think twice before taking a decision to go there.

As per the National Statistical Agency, Canada's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 6.8% on an annual average basis in 2022, hitting a 40-year high. Canada has seen a rise in inflation in the last few months. Apart from locals, the students hailing from Punjab are also facing a lot of difficulties due to the same.

Talking about prices, 2BHKs which earlier used to cost around 900-1000$ have increased to 1800$. 1BHK which earlier used to cost $600 has now increased to $1100. There has been a rise in the price of daily need items as well. 1 packet of bread which costed 1$ has now increased to 2.93$. Milk earlier used to cost $4 and now it amounts to $6. Wheat flour which cost $10 has now risen to $20.

Also, now the Canadian government has allowed students to work full-time. After this, the work that earlier used to be done by 2 students is now completed by a single student. This has resulted in fewer job opportunities for the students who are now going to Canada.

Prince Sanan, living in Toronto revealed that he had gone to Canada just a few days back and it is becoming difficult for him to find a part-time job. He added that while prices of daily need items are increasing, not being able to find a job just increases the problem.

Another person Ramanpreet Kaur, currently living in Ontario said that this is for the first time in the past many years that Canada has witnessed inflation like this.

For the time being, Canada's inflation and the government's decision regarding full-time work are mostly affecting the students who have just moved to Canada. Th inflation is hitting hard on their pocket and added on difficulty is that they are not able to get jobs.
