While Vidhu Vinod Chopra's latest movie 12th Fail won multiple Filmfare Awards, his son Agni Chopra etched his name into the Ranji history books. Agni Chopra had made his name in the history books after scoring a century in each of his first four first-class matches, setting a Ranji Trophy world record. Who is Agni Chopra?

 

Agni Chopra, 25, is the son of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and film critic Anupama Chopra. Agni plays for Mizoram team in the Ranji Trophy. His remarkable display in his fourth First-Class match against Meghalaya saw him smashing 105 runs off just 90 deliveries, comprising 13 boundaries and four maximums. This stellar performance was instrumental in Mizoram's formidable total of 359 runs in the first innings.

 

Not only this, Angi Chopra's Ranji debut was equally remarkable. On his Ranji debut match, Angi smashed impressive scores of 166 and 92 against Sikkim. Despite Agni's exceptional efforts, Mizoram narrowly missed clinching victory. Following that Agni carried his outstanding form into the subsequent clash with Nagaland, registering 164 runs in the first innings and adding 15 in the second. Agni's scintillating streak persisted in the following encounter against Arunachal Pradesh, where he amassed a commendable 114 runs.

 

Reacting to Agni's stellar Ranji's feat, his mother Anupama Chopra wrote, "@agnidevchopra55 makes his 5th consecutive century in his #ranjitrophy debut. I wish I could take some credit for this but it’s all yours @jugnuuuu_13 - so proud of you boys!"
