American Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) promotional company Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to make its footprint in the world's most diverse and developing markets, i.e., India. India's MMA fighter Anshul Jubli will make his UFC debut against Mike Breedan on October 21 in Abu Dhabi. Who is Anshul Jubli?
Anshul Jubli, 28, hails from Uttarakhand. However, for better training Anshul reportedly moved to New Delhi. Notably, Anshul is making global headlines as he is only the second Indian to bag a UFC contract after Bharat Khandare.
As per reports, Anshul fights in the lightweight category (150 lbs or 70 kg) and as per his UFC page, he has seven MMA wins under his name (and no loss). While he won two fights by knockout, one win was by submission.
Furthermore, the 28-year-old MMA fighter turned pro in 2019. His ring name is 'King of Lions' as per UFC. He started MMA training at the age of 22 after getting introduced to MMA through the Internet. Now, the question arises how did Anshul Jubli reach UFC? Well, as per UFC, Anshul Jubli entered the Road to UFC competition and fought against other MMA fighters from Asia in the lightweight category.
During his Road to UFC Competition, Anshul won in the semi-final against South Korean fighter Kyung Pyo Kim and then took on Jeka Saragih in the finale.

The venue for this showdown is the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. As it’s an early prelims bout, the event is scheduled to commence at 7:30 PM in India (6:00 PM in UAE, 10 AM ET/7 AM PT). Following the early prelims, the main card is set to kick off at 11:30 PM in India (10:00 PM in UAE and 2 PM ET/11 AM PT).
It is pertinent to mention here that during the weight measure faceoff, Breeden missed weight by 3.5lbs. Taking to his Instagram handle, Anshul wrote, "kingoflions_ vs Mike Breeden is on!
