New Delhi came on alert after multiple videos of Indians surfaced on social media saying that they were tricked into the Russia-Ukraine war. Indians participating in the Russia-Ukraine war came to the fore when two Indians died fighting for Putin's Army. To be precise, 30-year-old Indian national Mohammed Asfan from Hyderabad was duped into joining Russia's war against Ukraine and he was killed in the warzone. The Indian Embassy in Moscow also confirmed without revealing the circumstances of his death, but later, his family alleged that he was duped into joining the Russia-Ukraine war. India's MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during a press conference appealed to citizens to not get "swayed" by offers made by agents for support jobs with the Russian Army. Amid the controversy, a YouTuber named Faisal Khan has popped up. As per Express, Faisal Khan has been accused of sending Indians to Russia through his consultancy firm. Faisal Khan who is famous on YouTube as Baba Vlogs reportedly runs a manpower consultancy firm. Faisal Khan's firm provides workers in several countries. He is in his mid 30s. Reports suggest that Faisal Khan is a resident of Mumbai's Dadar. He went to Dubai in 2008, where he worked as a salesman. In 2016, Faisal started his consultancy Babavlogs. In 2018, Faisal was questioned by Indian authorities after a man he sent to Dubai claimed he had been converted to Islam.
In a conversation with the aforementioned media portal, Faisal Khan confessed of sending Indians to Russia, however, he called himself a victim. As per the report, Faisal sent 35 people to Russia. He was told by handlers in Russia that they would not be deployed on the front lines. Thereafter, Faisal Khan claimed he tried to get them back. He also said what happened after these men reached Russia was beyond his control.
Faisal highlighted that all those who went to Russia were aware of the risks. He said he wouldn't have left any trace had he intended to dupe them. He said hasn't pulled down his videos on Russia because he is not guilty.
