Shiv Kumar is the President of Mazdoor AdhikaarSangathan. After activist Nodeep Kaur was arrested, he too was detained fromSinghu border.
Reportedly, he said he would like to be a"baaghi" after a film was screened on Shaheed Bhagat Singh inHaryana's Sonipat. At that time, he was a student of Class 12.
According to a report published in The Quint, ShivKumar's friend claims that he has been arrested for protesting for the rightsof poor people.
Kumar's friend added that he always used to talk aboutthe condition of farmers and laborers as in how they were paid less wages.
Mazdoor Adhikaar Sangathan was a Kundli basedorganization. According to reports, Shiv was picked up by police after NodeepKaur on January 6. Nodeep Kaur was arrested four days prior to his arrest. Sheis also a member of the same platform.

After completing his senior secondary education, Kumar pursueddiploma from ITI. He used to get monthly wage of Rs 8,000 after he was employedin a factory at Kundli.
Reportedly, his family and friends got to know about hisarrest on January 31.
Ravi Kumar, SHO, Kundli Police Station said Kumar wasarrested on January 23. The Indian Express quoted the SHO as saying, “Hisfamily was informed about the arrest… Whether or not they have been able to methim is something the jail authorities can speak about. But there is no reasonfor them to deny a meeting as per norms… Both Nodeep and Shiv have beenarrested in connection with the same case. More arrests will be made.”
Hi family supports his activism. While Nodeep Kaur'sarrest got global attention, it was Shiv whose arrest did not get much glarefrom public.
