Famous English singer, songwriter and musician Christine McVie, best known for her work with the classic soft rock band Fleetwood Mac has passed away leaving the music world aghast. Known for her contribution to Fleetwood Mac’s hit albums like “Rumours” and for co-writing many singles like “don’t lie”, “everywhere” and “little lies”, Christine was an integral part of the success of the band in its prime. She spent many years in Los Angeles living in a sprawling mansion said to be owned previously by Sir Elton John himself but had moved back to England in 1997 after recording the hit album “The Dance” to be close to her family. She stayed out of the lime light until 2000 when she was seen giving an interview after what she termed a ‘semi-retirement’.

As per reports she had been diagnosed with a malignant tumor that had metastasized to various parts of her body. She was told by doctors that due to the aggressive spread of the tumor, it was hard to locate its origin. In a stroke of sad irony though, the coroner’s reports state that the primary cause of her death was an ischaemic stroke where as the tumor is listed as the secondary cause.

Many famous personalities in the music industry have paid tribute to the legend, including best friend and fellow bandmate Stevie Nicks. Music legends like Mike Love of the Beach Boys and Sheryl Crow were also quick to voice their sadness on hearing the news of her passing. Popular British comic John Allison paid his condolences by sharing a piece of artwork made by Christine McVie, celebrating a lesser-known talent she had.
