After weeks of international humiliation of the Biden Administration and a major security lapse over the leaked Pentagon Papers, the FBI on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old member of the US Air National Guard named Jack Douglas Teixeira. As per reports, Jack Teixeira is the person behind leaking 50s and 100s of classified Pentagon documents which included a range of topics relating to the war in Ukraine, China, the Middle East, and Africa. Among the many classified information, the leaked Ukraine war plans gained international traction including from Russia as well. Who is Jack Teixeira?
As per the information available, Jack Teixeira is an employee of the US Air Force National Guard stationed at the Otis Air National Guard Base in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. So, the burning question who leaked Pentagon documents have been answered. It was Jack Teixeira. Notably, Jack Teixeira is also a leading figure in an online gaming chat group called Thug Shaker Central on the social network platform Discord. In a group mostly made up of teenagers, Teixeira went by the name 'Jack the dripper' and was referred to as 'OG'. On Thursday, True Scoop News brought a detailed report for you on OG. As per reports, Teixeira would often seek to impress the younger members by leaking classified information. The group made up of 24 people, including some from Russia and Ukraine, shared a "mutual love of guns, military gear and God."
Teixeira comes from a long line of military veterans. A US media report stated that his stepfather had retired after 34 years of service in the same military base where he was working. His stepbrother is currently working there as well. Teixeira’s mother runs a flower business in Dighton and had posted a message wishing him the best for his future military career.
How Jack Teixeira leaked US Secret Documents?
The story of how the documents found their way from the messaging platform Discord, to 4Chan and Telegram, has been already revealed by Aric Toler of the investigative open source intelligence group Bellingcat as reported by BBC. Toler says it has not yet been possible to uncover the original source of the leaks, but charts their appearance on a messaging platform popular with gamers in early March. On 4 March, following an argument about the war in Ukraine on a Discord server frequented by players of the computer game Minecraft, one user wrote "here, have some leaked documents", before posting 10 of them. It is an unusual, but hardly unique form of leak.

At some point last year, members told the newspaper as quoted by BBC that Teixeira began posting what appeared to be re-written transcripts of classified information, which he touted as available through his work. The transcriptions included definitions of military jargon and other annotations.

While Ukraine has adamantly dismissed the leak as "Russian disinformation", Russian state media pins it as a failure of President Joe Biden's policy on Ukraine. President Biden addressed the leak during his visit to Ireland on Thursday, saying he was "concerned". US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin issued a statement applauding the FBI "for their swift arrest in connection with this investigation."
