Britishers were shell-shocked after a female prison officer named Katie Loxton was recently sentenced to 12 months of jail time after her affair with an inmate came to the fore. Katie Loxton, 25, was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a prisoner named Adam Higgs. Katie Loxton was working at HMP Oakwood in Staffordshire when she had an affair with Adam Higgs. Not only this, the investigation revealed that Katie Loxton had sexual conversations with Adam over call. Katie and Adam spoke on the phone for more than 380 hours in 3,451 different calls during their six-month tryst. As per reports, Adam Higgs also used the contraband phone to message Loxton on social media. Notably, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard the pair would often 'perform sexual acts to each other' during the calls. Who is Katie Loxton?
Katie Loxton, 25, is a former Prison Officer who has now been jailed for 12 months for misconduct in a public office. Apart from Katie, Adam Higgs also faced the consequences. He was sentenced to an eight-month jail time for possessing a device capable of transmitting or receiving images, sounds or information by electronic communications inside a prison. Notably, Katie and Adams admitted transmitting or causing the transmission of an image/sound by electronic means from within a prison. It is pertinent to mention here that Katie Loxton was arrested by the cops in January last year. The cops during a search of Katie's house had found three handwritten letters from Higgs.
A report quoted Detective Constable Adam McHugh, of Staffordshire Police. Adam McHugh was quoted informing, "Loxton and Higgs were able to manipulate the security measures of the prison telephony system to hide their relationship from officers and inmates."
It is pertinent to mention here that it is not the first time a love story between a prison officer and an inmate has emerged. Scottish Prison Officer Lorraine Hunter, 33, was disciplined over revelations about her relationship with thug William Harvey, 28. The female officer was also accused of smuggling contraband into Low Moss nick in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, for him. Reports suggested that Lorraine and Harvey came close when Hunter visited his cell while she worked on an anti-drug and violence programme.
