Who is Sania Mirza? An Armed Forces aspirant set to become India’s 1st Muslim Woman fighter pilot

The daughter of a TV mechanic from Mirzapur who comes from a modest lower middle-class family has scripted history setting an example for the generations to follow.

Sania Mirza who months back sat for the examination of the elite National Defence Academy didn’t have clue that she is all set to be trained to become the country’s first-ever Muslim girl to become a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force.

Sania is a resident of Mirzapur’s Jasovar village which falls under the Dehat Kotwali police station area. She cracked the exam for NDA and has brought immense laurels for her family, state, and obviously for the entire country setting up an example that will be taken with pride.

Sania has studied a Hindi medium school saying people from the Hindi medium too can achieve success if they are determined to achieve the target. She will be joining NDA Khadakwasla in Pune on December 27th.

The parents as well as the villagers are feeling proud of her. Her father Shahid Ali said Sania's father Shahid Ali said, "Sania Mirza considers the country's first fighter pilot Avni Chaturvedi as her role model. From the beginning, she wanted to be like her. Sania is the second girl in the country who has been selected as a fighter pilot."

She completed her education till 10th at Pandit Chintamani Deubey Inter College in her village itself. After that, she went to Guru Nanak Girls Inter College in the city. She was the district topper in the 12th UP Board. While for the NDA, she started her preparations at the Centurion Defence Academy.

While talking to the media about her success she gives the credit to her parents and also to the Centurion Defense Academy.

She informed the media that only two seats were reserved for women in fighter pilot in NDA 2022 exam, on her first attempt she couldn’t achieved it but has done it on her second attempt.

Sania's mother Tabassum Mirza said, "Our daughter has made us and the entire village proud. She fulfills the dream of becoming the first fighter pilot. She inspired every girl in the village to follow their dreams."

In the National Defense Academy 2022 examination, there were a total of 400 seats including male and female. Only 19 seats were there for women, and two seats were reserved for fighter pilots. In these two seats, Sania successfully took the chance to reserve a seat by backing her determination owing to the display of grit and perseverance.
