Former Congress MLA Sushil Kumar Rinku joined Aam Aadmi Party in Phagwara at 5.30 pm today. AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Mann made him join the party. There are high chance that Sushil Kumar Rinku will also get a ticket to contest for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election that will take place on 10th May 2023. Sushil Kumar Rinku was a Congress MLA from Jalandhar West and is a big face in the Dalit community. He is widely known among the masses and is likely to gather many votes during elections. Apart from this Sushil Kumar Rinku’s wife Sunita Rinku has also joined Aam Aadmi Party.
Who is Sushil Kumar Rinku?
Giving an insight into Sushil Kumar Rinku’s career, former Congress MLA has been an active member of NSUI in 1990. In 1992, during by-cot of elections by Akali Dal Sushil Kumar Rinku prepared youth for elections & worked as booth level worker. It was in the year 1994 that Sushil Kumar Rinku was elected as President of Shri Guru Ravidas's cultural Society at D.A.V College Jalandhar. Sushil Kumar Rinku has worked as booth level worker for youth Congress.
Sushil Kumar Rinku in 2002, worked as a level worker for Lok Sabha Elections. In 2006, he was elected as Municipal Councilor and won by 2500 votes. Before joining AAP, he was an ex-MLA of Jalandhar West.
Talking about Sushil Kumar Rinku’s family background, his family served the Indian National Congress for around 45 years. His uncle and father served in almost every assembly and parliament election. During emergency in 1977, his entire family was imprisoned for supporting Indian National Congress.
Sushil Kumar Rinku’s shift to AAP will act as a big blow to Congress. Sushil Kumar Rinku can act as a game changer in Jalandhar Lok Sabha by elections for AAP. Jalandhar Lok Sabha Election is the biggest challenge and ultimate test for Aam Aadmi Party.
