Jyoti Malhotra Case is still under investigation and amid this another YouTuber has been arrested by the Punjab Police. Reportedly, this recent arrest is conducted on the charges of espionage by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police.
According to the preliminary information by the police officials, the YouTuber is known as Jasbir Singh and was arrested from Rupnagar. He has been sent on three-day police remand, immediately after the arrest. It is anticipated that the police will question the accused about his information spread between India and Pakistan, and how he was linked to Jyoti Malhotra.
The latest release by the police has revealed that Jasbir was directly associated with Pakistani Intelligence agencies and terrorism-supporting elements.
On X, Punjab DGP revealed, "After Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest, Jasbir attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these PIOs to avoid detection. An FIR has been registered at SSOC, #Mohali. Investigations are underway to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify all collaborators.”
Along with this, he mentioned that primary investigation revealed that Jasbir was connected with Shakir, also known as Jatt Randhawa.
Who is Jasbir Singh?
Jasbir Singh is identified as a resident of the Mahalan village in Rupnagar and runs a YouTube channel named ‘Jaan Mahal.’ Accordingly, Jasbir was having a family of 11 lakh followers on YouTube and was known for his travel vlogs, which he used to upload on his YouTube channel.
Jasbir’s trip to Pakistan -
According to certain sources, Jasbir Singh visited Pakistan thrice and was also invited to attend Pakistan’s National Day program, notably the invitation was given by Danish. Reports have outlined that during his visit, he met high officials of Pakistan.
Police officials has further mentioned that Jasbir visited Pakistan in the year 2020, 2021 and 2024 and his phone has also revealed various secrets about his visits as there were reportedly many Pakistani contacts saved in the device. It has also been reported that Jasbir tried to remove his contact with the PIO.
Other arrests by Punjab Police -
Along with this, Punjab Police have arrested a person named Gagandeep Singh resident of Mohalla Rodupur, Gali Nazar Singh Wali, Tarn Taran after receiving an intel on him sharing sensitive information to Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and several Pakistan-based Khalistani supporters.
Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih from Amritsar, both were caught sending Indian Army intel to Pakistan. Ghazala Khatun and Yameen Mohammad from Malerkotla, these two came in contact with Pakistani spies while applying for a visa. Raqeeb, a tailor at Bathinda Army Cantonment, was accused of leaking strategic data.
