After Bihar, Jharkhand politics has been intensified after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Ranchi as well as Delhi's residence. ED's crackdown on the Jharkhand CM took place after Hemant Soren evaded at least 10 summons from the central agency in a money laundering case. On Monday, ED seized Rs 36 lakh cash, two BMWs, and multiple documents from Soren's Delhi residence. Heman Soren who was declared missing by multiple reports appeared before the ED on Tuesday at around 1 PM and ever since then, he is being questioned. Who is Kalpana Soren?
Kalpana Soren is the wife of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. It is reported that if Hemant Soren gets arrested by ED, then Kalpana Soren will be made the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Notably, Kalpana Soren is not an MLA but that will be taken care of too. As per reports, JMM MLA Sarfaraz Ahmed resigned from the Assembly to give effect to the Plan B i.e. make Kalpana Soren, Chief Minister of Jharkhand. MLA from Gandey constituency, Ahmed is a three-time MLA. He was elected twice on Congress tickets and moved to the JMM just ahead of the 2019 polls. Kalpana Soren may get elected in a by-election from Gandey.
