In a shocking development, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) on April 5 announced that it has terminated its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nadine Ahn after its internal investigation found her to be breaching an employee's code of conduct. Nadine Ahn was associated with RBC for almost 24 to 25 years in various roles. Talking about Nadine Ahn's firing reason, she was accused of having an 'undisclosed relationship' with another RBC employee and gave him biased compensation increments. Nadine Ahn's relationship was flagged after multiple employees of RBC lodged their complaints outlining her behaviour. Following the investigation bot the CFO and Nadine Ahn's boyfriend were fired from the bank. Who is the other employee?

 

Canadian media reports identified Nadine Ahn was in an 'undisclosed relationship' with an employee named Ken Mason. As per reports, Ken Mason was also fired by the RBC. Ken Mason served at the RBC as the treasury executive. Apart from this, Ken Mason also served as the vice president and head of capital and term funding. On dining more, True Scoop News found that Ken was also a senior and old employee of the RBC. Going by his LinkedIn profile, Ken has been working with RBC for more than 20 years. Interestingly, Ken removed his picture from his LinkedIn profile. 

 

Nadine Ahn's Undisclosed Relationship & Investigation

 

RBC in its official release stated that it was recently made aware of allegations involving 'Ms. Ahn and immediately launched an internal review and engaged outside legal counsel to investigate. The investigation found evidence that, in contravention of the RBC Code of Conduct, Ms. Ahn was in an undisclosed close personal relationship with another employee which led to preferential treatment of the employee including promotion and compensation increases. As a result, the two individuals have had their employment terminated.'

 

RBC further said, 'The investigation found no evidence of conduct by the former CFO or the other employee with respect to the bank's previously issued financial statements, RBC's strategy or its financial or business performance.'
