In a heartbreaking development, Lipi V Rastogi, daughter of Maharashtra Cadre IAS officer couple, on Monday died by suicide. As per reports, 27-year-old Lipi V. Rastogi jumped to her death from a building at Nariman Point, Mumbai. Living with her parents at Suniti Apartments, housing government officers near the Y. B. Chavan Centre, 27-year-old Lipi has reportedly left behind a suicide note that has been seized by the Cuffe Parade Police. Who was Lipi V Rastogi?
As mentioned above, Lipi V Rastogi was the daughter of a Maharashtra Cadre IAS officer couple. To be precise, Lipi Rastogi was the daughter of IAS officer Vikas C. Rastogi, working with Higher & Technical Education Department, and Radhika V. Rastogi, posted in the Home Department. Around 4 a.m. this morning, Lipi jumped from the 10th floor of the building and was rushed to G. T. Hospital where she was declared dead on admission.
Going by Lipi Rastogi's LinkedIn profile, she described herself as, "As an ex-marketing professional with a background in handling luxe beauty brands in India and work experience with Unilever and Nykaa, I made the calculated decision to pivot my career into the Law stream."
Talking about Lipika Rastogi's educational qualification, she did her graduation with a BA from St.Xaviers College. Thereafter, she switched her career to law. She was studying BA-LLB at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) in Sonepat, Haryana. Next year, Lipika was slated to graduate as a lawyer.
In her short-span of law career, Lipika did her internship at Judicial Intern under Hon'ble J. Hake & J. Shaikh. She also did her internship as an Assistant to Public Prosecutor Ashwini Raykar. From December 2023 to January 2024, she did her internship at Vesta Legal under Adv. Sarah Kapadia. Lipika proudly flaunted in her LinkedIn bio that she scored 97 percentile in the LSAT.
Lipi V Rastogi suicide reason
As per reports, Lipi Rastogi's suicide note points to academic pressures, which may have prompted her to take the extreme step. She also claimed in her suicide note that nobody should be blamed for it. The Cuffe Parade Police have filed an accidental death report and are investigating the matter. Her last rites are slated for later on Monday.
