She was Born in Bordeaux, France, in 1822, Rosa's successful career inspired future generations of women in the field of art. Google has also celebrated Rosa's birthday through her art. Google's Doodle has a canvas. It is shown that Rosa is carving a flock of sheep in her art.

Rosa's education in the field of art started from childhood. Her father was a painter. Finding a career in art was a new thing for Rosa, as the presence of women in this field was negligible. Rosa spent many years grooming herself and reinventing herself in sketches before putting her art on canvas.

Rosa Bonheur's stature as an animal painter and sculptor grew in the 1840s. Many specimens of her art were exhibited at the prestigious Paris Salon from 1841 to 1853. Scholars believe that her paintings, which were included in an exhibition in 1849, established Rosa as a professional artist.

In 1853, Rosa made worldwide recognition with her painting 'The Horse Fair'. The painting depicted the Paris horse market. This painting is still on display today at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

To honour this famous painting, the French Queen Eugenie awarded the Legion of Honour, one of the country's most prestigious awards, to Rosa Bonheur in 1865. One of her paintings 'Monarchs of the Forest' was sold for over $200,000 at an auction in 2008.

Rosa Bonheur died in 1899 at the age of 77. She left her estate to Anna Klumpke, her partner and biographer. She is buried in the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris with Nathalie Michas. When Klumpke died in 1945, her ashes were interred with her.

The successes in the life of the artist were great. In addition to becoming an officer of the Legion of Honour, Bonheur was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Royal Order of Isabella by the King of Spain, as well as the Catholic Cross and Leopold Cross by the King of Belgium. She was also elected as an honorary member of the Royal Academy of Watercolorists in London.
