Indian users on Twitter attributed someone else's tweetsto the Spiderman actor Tom Holland and #boycottspiderman started to trend onthe micro-blogging site. It happened due to identical names of historian andthe spiderman actor.

Tom Holland tweeted about the renaming of Motera Stadiumafter Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Historian and author Hollandtweeted, "I'm a huge admirer of the modesty Modi showed in naming theworld's largest cricket stadium after himself." As per reports, the SardarPatel Stadium (Gujarat) was popularly known as Motera Stadium. It has recentlybeen renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium. It is touted as the largest stadium inthe world.

After historian Holland tweeted about the stadium, userson Twitter started to trend #BoycottSpiderman. Many people including actor andcomedian Vir Das was amused to see this trend.

After the author came to know about this tweet, hetweeted and apologized to Spiderman actor, "My apologies to @SpiderManMovie. I should haveremembered that with great power comes great responsibility." He added, "Justfor the record, & to save Marvel's profits in India, I freely acknowledgethat Narendra Modi is a man of immense humility, and that his naming theworld's largest cricket stadium after himself is in no way quite hilariouslyimmodest."
