
District administration of Gwalior shuts down the libraryopened by Hindu Mahasabha bearing the name of Nathuram Godse who assassinated,Father of the Nation, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
Citing law and order issues, the administration has alsoseized some material from the library. Kishore Kanyal, additional districtmagistrate, told PTI that after they come to know about the study center in theDaulatganj area in Gwalior, they invoked orders under Section 144 of the Codeof Criminal Procedure against suspected efforts to dismantle peace in the area.
Kanyal told themedia agency that after they told it about the Mahasabha, they promised toclose the center and remain peaceful. According to report published in TheIndian Express, the centre not only has literature on Godse but plans to holdlectures on his life while looking back on how Gandhi failed to stop thepartition of India.
Vice President of the Mahasabha, Jaiveer Bharadwaj saidthat the library was opened to show to the people that Godse was a "truenationalist."
Historically, Hindu Mahasabha has been praising Godse forhis deeds and laid the foundation stone for a temple to honour him in Gwalior.
Godse was also called 'Patriot' by Pragya Thakur, the BJPcandidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat in March, 2019. Thakur had repeated hisclaims later on also who herself was an accused in Malegaon Terror attack.
