Rahul Gandhi, an MP from Kerala described his stint as'refreshing' after representing Amethi, Uttar Pradesh in Lok-Sabh for fifteenyears.

Gandhi was speaking at an event at Trivandrum. He said, "Forthe first 15 years, I was an MP in north. I had got used to a different type ofpolitics. For me, coming to Kerala was very refreshing as suddenly I found thatpeople are interested in issues and not just superficially but going intodetail in issues."

JP Nadda, the president of BJP took notice of it and hitout at Gandhi. Nadd in a tweet said, "A few days back he was in theNortheast, spewing venom against the western part of India. Today in the Southhe is spewing venom against the North.  Divide and rule politics won’twork, @RahulGandhi  Ji!"

Gandhi also added, "And recently I was tellingstudents that I really enjoy Kerala and Wayanad. Its is not just affection butit is the way you do your politics. There is intelligence with which you doyour politics."

Gandhi family had a strong hold over Amethi but it wasaltered by Smriti Irani in 2019 Lok-Sabha elections. Rahul was defeated bySmriti Irani in the 2019 elections and he could only save his grace fromWayanad in Kerala.

S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister said, "Indiais one... never divide us". He also referred to his pan-India upbringing.

In a tweet, Jaishankar said, "I hail from the south.I am an MP from a western state. I was born, educated and worked in the north.I represented all of India before the world. India is one. Never run down aregion; never divide us."

Meanwhile, SmritiIrani has also bought a land at Amethi triggering another strategy ofpolitical motives. She will set up his residence at Amethi and she also claimedthat no MP made Amethi their residence.
