Dr Raj Kumar just 1 year after joining the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) announced his departure from the party and return to his previous Congress party.
This switch was made public in a press conference. Dr Rajkumar addresses that the decision was hard to make but had to be done.
Dr Rajkumar Verka rejoining the Congress has become eyebrow-raising. It also sparked tons of discussions among political circles and general public.
In the press conference, he made it clear that he was leaving the BJP and going back to congress. He expressed his thoughts on BJP policies, calling them ineffective — among other things.
Something that caught everyone curious though, was when he said that there were certain issues too sensitive for a public discussion. Not giving any hints or insights into it.
He then went on with another reason saying that BJP’s policies don’t seem like the nations and Punjab's wellbeing is not safe in BJP’s hands so the opportunity to leave seemed like the best thing to do.
According to the reports, five of the big congress party personalities which previously joined the Bharatiya Janta Party are more likely to rejoin the congress party again (no official statement yet).
Additionally, Dr Rajkumar Verka wants the general people of people to know that still believes in his closing statements: “the future of this country and Punjab is safe with Congress."
