Famous Twitch streamer Kai Cenat's PS% giveaway went horribly wrong in New York after more than 2 thousand Americans flocked to collect the freebie promised by him. Kai Cenat's promise for free Play Station 5 caused a riot-like situation in Union Square, New York. Two days before the Union Square riots, Kai Cenat had promised in his live Twitch streaming he will be giving away free Play Station 5 and urged his followers to be present there. As a result, thousands came to collect free PS5, but it went horribly wrong as people started hurling bottles, stones, and tins of paint causing a riot-like situation. Multiple videos are doing rounds on social media which shows LAPD had to step in to control the mob and they even used force to keep the chaos in control.

As a result, Kai Cenat was arrested on Friday. The situation became so tense in Union Square as even Subway trains passing through had to be cautious. Notably, Cenat had promised a total of 300 PS5s at the park on his social media. As the day progressed, people kept on coming, some even climbing on cars and the train station roof. As a result, the New York Police Department declared a "level four" mobilization, deploying approximately 1,000 officers to the scene. Police tried to disperse the unruly crowd, but their commands fell on deaf ears. Tear gas was used to control the chaos, as Cenat live-streamed the events from inside a vehicle near Union Square.

After Kai Cenat's arrest, it is not reported that he could be charged with multiple counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly.
