The parents of popular Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala have taken out a 'Justice for Sidhu Moosewala' march in Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency. Moosewala's mother Charankaur and father Balkaur Singh led the march from Bada Pind in Phillaur, with a large number of the singer's fans in attendance. The emotional parents of the deceased singer said they are wandering to seek justice for their son's death.

Balkaur Singh, Moosewala's father, addressed the people and urged them not to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha by-election. He asked them to vote for any other party or even for NOTA, as he believes that AAP is responsible for reducing his son's security and failing to prevent his murder. Moosewala's family has also entered the political fray by opposing the AAP and carrying out an insaaf march against them.

Singh further stated that despite the Delhi Police Special Cell's warning of Sidhu Moosewala's high danger of life, his son's security was reduced. The enemies of the family were allegedly roaming around their house with heavy weapons, hand grenades, and vehicles for 15 days. They brutally killed his son the very next day. Singh said, "We had a happy family. Sidhu could have settled somewhere abroad, but my son loved his land and country. He preferred his village. He has been wandering for the last 11 months to get justice for his son."

The march started from Bada Pind and stopped at Shahkot via Jandiala, Nurmahal on Friday, and will continue on Saturday, where it will be taken out from Lambda to Ramamandi. Balkaur Singh will address people at eight different places during the march.

The Justice for Sidhu Moosewala Yatra has created difficulties for the ruling party AAP. Just before the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency election, the march taken out by Moosewala's family members may prove to be a heavy blow to the party. The AAP had previously accepted that the wave of anger among the people after the murder of Sidhu Moosewala was one of the reasons for their defeat in the Sangrur Lok Sabha by-election.

It is to be remembered that Sidhu Moosewala was murdered on May 29 last year in village Jawaharke when he was on his way to visit his maternal aunt in the hospital along with two friends. Members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang attacked Moosewala with foreign weapons, killing him on the spot.
