Small clues at crime spot followed by scientificinvestigation helped the Phagwara Police to crack the blind murder case withina few days in which Baljeet Singh s/o Jarnail Singh of Bhullarai was killed bythe unknown miscreants and arrested three accused incuding deceased's soninvolved in the crime.
The accused persons have been identified as Sukhraj Singhs/o Baljeet Singh r/o Bhullarai, Parshant Rai s/o Narinder Rai, r/o GuruHarkrishan Nagar, Phagwara, and Balwinder Singh alias Sunny s/o Paramjit Singhr/o #1 Gali No. 01, Kothra Road, UnkarNagar Phagwara.
Disclosing further derails, Senior Superintendent ofPolice (SSP) Kapurthala Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh told in a press conferencethat on the intervening night of September 24 and 25, some unidentified peoplehad killed Baljit Singh in village Bhullarai with sharp edged weapon.
He added that it was a blind murder and in this regard, acase was registered on September 25 under sections 302 and 34 IPC was registered on the statement of thedeceased family at police station Sadar Phagwara.
SSP said that various police teams including SHO SadarPhagwara Gagandeep Singh Ghuman and Sub-Inspector Sikander Singh in charge CIAPhagwara were formed under the supervision of SP Phagwara Sarabjit Singh Bahiaand DSP Palwinder Singh.
He said that these police teams were working on differenttheories to solve the case and found some clues at spot during its scientificprobe which helped to reach accused Sukhraj Singh and his accomplices.
During investigation, it had come to fore that BaljitSingh's son Sukhraj Singh in connivance with with his friend Prashat Rai son ofNarinder Rai resident of Basra Gym Phagwara near Guru Harkrishan Nagar andBalwinder Singh alias Sunny son of Paramjit Singh resident of House No. 01Street No. 4 Khothra Road Ukanar Nagar Phagwara.
Baljit Singh’s son Sukhraj Singh and Prashat Rai son ofNarinder Rai arrested today.
During the interrogation, it came to light that SukhrajSingh and his mother and his younger sister were evicted from the house by hisfather Baljit Singh about 4/5 years ago. The deceased Baljit Singh was notworking and was addicted to alcohol.
Moreover, under the influence of alcohol, he used to beatand quarrel with all of them. Sukhraj Singh had been in touch with his fatherfor past few months and after that he used to ask his father for money to goabroad.
Sukhraj Singh even insisted his father to sell hisexpensive land of two kanal and pay him so that he could go abroad but deceasedBaljit Singh neither sold his land and nor gave the money to his son.
In this rage, on the intervening night of September 24and 25, Sukhraj Singh along with two accomplices stabbed Baljit Singh to deathwhile he was sleeping in his house.
The SSP said that the police team would produce thearrested accused before the magistrate and would seek their police remand forfurther investigation of this case.
