Kapurthala: A woman from Phagwara along with her two children committed suicide by jumping in front of the Shatabdi Express. The bodies of all three were left in tatters.
After receiving the information, the RPF team reached the spot and collected the dead bodies from the railway track and sent them to the hospital.
Railway Police in-charge SI Gurbhej Singh said that according to the Aadhaar cards found from the deceased, they were identified as Praveen Kumari (36), wife of Ravi Kumar, resident of village Bharsingh Pura police station Phillaur, her daughter Samanpreet Kaur (10) and son Navneet Kumar (5).
SI said that this accident happened on KM No. 407/20-24 between Phagwara and Mauli station. Women with children in Shatabdi Express train no. going from Amritsar to Delhi jumped ahead of 12030 down.
However, the reason why the woman committed suicide by jumping in front of the train has not been revealed. No suicide note has been found from the deceased. He further emphasized that on the basis of the statements of the relatives, deceased action should be taken and further investigation is going on.
