Ludhiana: Panic spread in Ludhiana’s Nanak Nagar area this evening after a tragic accident at a multi-storey factory, where a wall on the fifth floor collapsed due to strong winds. One laborers were caught under the debris. According to initial reports, one of them died on the spot, while the other was rushed to a private hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Residents of the area allege that several such multi-storey factories operate in the locality without proper safety measures and often in violation of construction norms. Despite repeated complaints to the authorities, no strict action has been taken so far.
This incident has once again raised serious questions about industrial safety and regulatory oversight in the city. It remains to be seen what action, if any, will be taken by the administration in response to the tragedy.
