On Thursday, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and novelist MacKenzie announced about their extravagant divorce. According to the reports, the divorce costed Bezos 25% of his shares in his company Amazon worth 36 billion USD. Hence, she will be have a 4% stake in the entire company.
MacKenzie had stated that all of her stake in 'The Washington Post' and that of the space exploration firm 'Blue Origin' will be given to Bezos. Apart from this, Bezos will also have the voting control of her remaining 75% of the Amazon stock. "The Washington Post' is a major American daily newspaper published in Washington, D.C. whereas 'Blue Origin' is a privately funded American aerospace manufacturer and spaceflight services company.
“Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff with support from each other and everyone who reached out to us in kindness, and looking forward to our next phase as co-parents and friends. Excited about my own plans. Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next”, said MacKenzie in a statement.
World's third richest Woman!
The famous American business magazine Forbes had reported that this divorce settlement will make MacKenzie the third wealthiest woman in the world after L'Oreal heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers and Walmart's Alice Walton. MacKenzie's net worth is a whopping 36 billion dollars.
