Maharashtra has been jolted with yet another high-profile accident after Pune. This time the incident has taken place in Mumbai's Worli. In a case of hit & run in Mumbai, a speeding BMW hit a couple on a scooter in Worli on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a woman. Worli Accident took place at 5:30 am. The woman identified as Kaveri Nakva and her husband Pradik Nakva, from the Koliwada area of Worli, went to Sassoon Dock to fetch fish. As they were returning home with their catch, their scooter was struck from behind by a speeding BMW. The impact was severe, causing their bike to overturn and throwing both the husband and wife onto the bonnet of the car. In a desperate attempt to save himself, the husband managed to jump off the bonnet. However, his wife was not as fortunate as she was dragged for 100 metres by the car attempting to flee the scene.
Later during the investigation, it was found that the car was being driven allegedly by Mihir Shah, the son of a leader of Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde. Ever since Worli Accident, Mihir Shah, 24, has been absconding since the incident. In the meanwhile, Rajesh Shah, Mihir Shah's father and the deputy leader of the Shinde Sena in Palghar district, has been detained by the police. The BMW was registered in his name. Rajesh Shah's driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, has also been detained by the police. Notably, netizens are also trying to dig up about Mihir Shah. As a result, who is Mihir Shah is also among the trending questions on social media.
Mihir Shah's Instagram account or Mihir Shah Facebook account has been among the most searched after the Worli hit-and-run case. Reacting to Worli Hit & Run, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said, "The Mumbai hit-and-run case that has happened is very unfortunate. I had a conversation with the police. Whoever is guilty, action will be taken against them...We treat everyone equally. Whatever happens will be legal...."
