While actors and makers of Yaariyan 2 are quite busy promoting their upcoming movie, their new song titled Saure Ghar was recently dropped on social media. While Saure Ghar was supposed to be an entertainment song, it sparked a major controversy when the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) raised strong objections over the visuals of an upcoming movie “Yaariyan 2”. Not only this, SGPC asked the makers to delete the video as soon as possible otherwise legal action would be taken against the makers of the movie. Yaariyan 2 features Divya Khosla, Pearl V Puri, and Meezaan Jafri. It is the sequel of the movie Yaariyan which was released in 2014 starring Rakul Preet Singh and more. While Yaariyaan 1 was directed by Divya Kumar Khosla, Yaariyan 2 is directed by Radhika Rao & Vinay Sapru. Interestingly, Divya Kumar Khosla will be seen acting in the movie in the lead role. Yaariyan 2 is slated to hit the theaters on October 20, 2023. Now, coming to Yaariyan 2's song Saure Ghar, below is what SGPC said-

Why did SGPC threaten legal action against Yaariyan 2 makers after the Saure Ghar song release?

As per reports, in the song “Saure Ghar”, a clean-shaven actor has been shown wearing a kirpan (symbol of Sikh faith). The SGPC has taken cognizance of it as only an initiated Sikh has the right to wear ‘kirpan’ (one of the five religious symbols). SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami was quoted asking the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to intervene into the matter and taken down the song as well as the trailer of the movie from social media. SGPC stated that if the song and the trailer will not be taken down then legal action will be taken.

As per SGPC, in the Saure Ghar, Meezaan Jafri can be seen wearing the Sikh Kakaar (symbol of the Sikh faith), Kirpan, in a highly objectionable manner that cannot be accepted. As mentioned above, only an initiated Sikh has the right to wear the Kirpan, as per the Sikh Code of Conduct of Akal Takht Sahib and the rights given by the Constitution of India. It is pertinent to mention here that True Scoop News has decided not to incorporate the video of the controversial song Saure Ghar as it may hurt Sikh sentiments.

The video opens with Divya, dressed in wedding attire, traveling in a bus. She calls her friends and comes for help as soon as possible. Both Pearl and Meezaan rushed and came to the same bus. Well, the music starts here and as it moves forward we can see Divya’s marriage happening in a jungle

The controversial song is sung by the dynamic duo Vishal Mishra and Neeti Mohan, with music and lyrics crafted by Manan Bhardwaj, conceived, choreographed, and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.
