The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa has attracted a large number youth this year.
Not only this, almost 50 percent of over 7,800 delegates belong to the 18 to 35 years age group. Eighteen was the minimum age required to register as delegate.
While those between 36 and 50 years age group are 27 percent, 18 percent belong to 51 to 65 years. Those above 66 years are only six percent.
Among these delegates,18 percent are students,16 percent film professionals and 66 percent cinema enthusiasts.
A maximum 34 percent delegates belong to Goa, followed by 13 percent from Kerala. While 8 percent hail from neighbouring Maharashtra, 6 percent from Tamil Nadu and remaining 37 per cent belong to other places.
More than 220 films from 67 countries are being screened at the 49th edition of IFFI which began on the 20th of this month. Out of this, the highest 16 per cent are English movies, followed by 13 percent Hindi, 6 percent French; and Malayalam, Spanish, Hebrew and Arabic 4 per cent each. Remaining 49 percent films belong to other languages.
