Watch: Youth who turned off water cannon during 'Delhi Chalo' movement booked for attempt to murder

A 26-year-old youth who showed valor and climbed a water cannon to turn it off during the farmers' 'Delhi Chalo' movement has been booked on the charges of attempt to murder in Haryana on Saturday. 

Reportedly, the man has been identified as Navdeep Singh, a resident of Ambala has garnered much appreciation from the people across the nation. Also, Navdeep was branded as a hero on social media. 

The video of the incident, which took place near Mohra village in Ambala district on National Highway 44, is doing rounds on the internet. In the video, Navdeep could be seen turning off the cannon and jumping safely to a tractor-trolley.

In the same FIR, Navdeep's father Jai Singh Jalbera has also been booked. The charges which have been leveled on the duo are of an attempt to run over policemen with the speeding tractor during the protest. 

Haryana police has barricaded the area to refrain the farmers from marching towards Delhi. The Haryana Police in riot gear used water cannons, tear gas shells to disperse farmers from Punjab and Haryana during their attempt to march towards Delhi by removing barricades.
