Comic book characters Archie Andrews and hisfriends are set for an Indian film version on Netflix. Zoya made theannouncement on her official Instagram with interesting creatives. She wrote,“Archie and the Crew are about to get Down and Desi! “The Archies” Acoming-of-age musical drama directed by me. Coming soon to Netflix!"
Earlier, it was reported that Shah RukhKhan’s daughter Suhana Khan, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s youngerdaughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda will maketheir debut with the film. Ibrahim Ali Khan’s name was also linked to it.
Talking about this collaboration, directorZoya Akhtar said, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archiesto life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The charactersare iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous. I haveto make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew upon the comic and yet resonates with the young adults today.”

The Archie Comics follow the lives of fourfriends — Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge and Jughead Jones — asthey navigate teenage life. While Archie is caught in a love triangle withBetty and Veronica, Jughead is known for his love for food.
