"Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone Got Break In Bollywood Because They Look Great": Zoya Akhtar

Kicking off the debate on Insiders vs Outsiders, famous lyricist Javed Akhtar explained that although being a star kid can give you a break but it is your talents which makes an actor or actress a star.

Justice for Sushant Singh Rajput is now a matter of debate for the mainstream media. While few media organizations are debating on justice for Sushant, most are busy in the debate of insiders vs outsiders. The debate was sparked by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, now the Akhtar family came together for an interview with India Today with famous anchor Rajdeep Sardesai.

Kicking off the debate on Insiders vs Outsiders, famous lyricist Javed Akhtar explained that although being a star kid can give you a break but it is your talents which makes an actor or actress a star. He also went on to say that Bollywood is not a political stage where people captures booth, fake voting. It is only the talent which speaks in Bollywood. Javed asked what nepotism actually means? If a father wants to invest in their children is it nepotism? If yes, then industrialist is nepotistic.

When the ball went to Zoya Akhtar's court, she slammed people for abusing someone else's for Sushant's death. On being asked whether filmmaking was in her blood, Zoya answered not filmmaking but writing is in her blood. She also revealed that many directors including Anurag Kashyap debuted their filmmaking before her. And there was also a time when actors refused to do her films. 

Zoya explained everyone's journey and struggle is different. But what highlighted more when Zoya gave the example of Aishwarya rai and Deepika Padukone. Zoya said that Aishwarya and Deepika got their break in movie because they looked good. That's a genetic advantage, should we be abusing them? That's not merit the way they look but they got the break in Bollywood on the basis of their looks.
