According to the 2022 Hurun Global Rich List released on Wednesday, the Adani Group chairman has earned around Rs 6,000 crore per week in the last year.

Adani's wealth increased more than Ambani

Hurun India said in a press release that the wealth of the chairman of the Adani group has registered a growth of 153 per cent in the last year. Gautam Adani has become the richest industrialist in the 2022 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. 

At the same time, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited, is the only Indian to enter the top 10 in the 2022 M3M Hurun Global Rich List with a net worth of $103 billion. Ambani's wealth has increased by 24% in the last year.

Wealth increased five-fold

The press release said that “Gautam Adani is at the top position in the M3M Hurun Global List 2022 and his wealth increased by $49 billion last year. 

Following the listing of renewable energy company Adani Green, Gautam Adani's assets grew nearly five-fold to $81 billion in 2020 from $17 billion. 

Falguni Nair, the founder of Nayaka, has also made her place in the Hurun Global Rich List 2022, with a total increase of $ 7.6 billion in Nair's wealth. At the same time, the assets of Cyrus S Poonawalla of the Cyrus Poonawalla Group increased by 41% to $26 billion. Poonawalla has secured more than 500 ranks in the last 10 years.

Gautam Adani has emerged as one of the richest people in the world. With a wealth addition of $49 billion, Gautam Adani has grabbed the top spot globally in the 2022 M3M Hurun Global Rich List. 

The report also pointed out that despite the Russo-Ukraine war and the continuing COVID-19 impact, the net worth of billionaires around the world grew by 4% to $15.2 trillion in the past year.

According to the Chinese Report

India, with its 215 billionaires and 58 new industrialists, has become the third-largest billionaire maker in the world, according to the Chinese report. 

If billionaires of Indian origin are added, then this number increases to 249. China has 1,133 billionaires, nearly five times more than India, while the US has 716 billionaires.
