Most streamed shows on Netflix: The most watched and followed Netflix series by the public have dominated the series conversation in recent years: titles such as 'The Bridgertons'', 'Money Heist' or the successful 'The Squid Game' have shown their strength in streaming as a whole.

In addition, of course, they dominate this list ordered by the number of hours viewed by platform users. While we wait for 'Stranger Things' season 5 to arrive and break records again, these are the most popular series on Netflix. Guess which one is placed first?

This selection is made by particular seasons, so there are series that appear several times. This is the case of 'The Bridgertons', the romantic comedy based on the Julia Quinn novels that with each delivery seems to make fans fall in love more and more.

Season 3 of 'The Bridgertons' is already on its way, and we don't rule out that it will mobilize this entire ranking when it opens. Without a doubt, it is one of the most addictive series on Netflix. We will also find series like 'Ozark', one of Netflix's most awarded series, and with its fourth season managed to collect fantastic data among the public. It may not be the one that accumulates the most headlines, but there is no doubt that it is one of the best original productions on the platform.

The first places are disputed between these and other series such as the unstoppable 'Stranger Things', whose fourth season is already among the best series of 2022, our 'La casa de Papel/ Money Heist', which of course is one of the best Spanish series of Netflix, and also the South Korean 'We are dead', one of the best zombie series, and 'The Squid Game', one of the most unexpected and surprising successes of Netflix in recent times.

Before fully entering the list, how has this ranking been prepared? According to Netflix, this is the total hours watched by viewers in the first 28 days after the premiere of each series.

If a new season opens in two parts, as happened with " Lucifer ", the platform adds the two figures obtained in the two 28-day periods. Yes, this is a bit of a cheat, and this model does not take into account those series that shines beyond the first weeks of their premiere, but this is how success is counted on the platform and this is how we transfer it to this ranking.

If you already have the best HBO Max series in 2022 and the best current series on Disney + under control, it's time for you to discover the titles that drive Netflix users crazy. Out of this Top 6 have been series like 'Sex Education, 'Lupin' and 'Elite', but those that have sneaked in are essential. We will update it if any series hits the bell!

5). The Bridgertons (Season 1)

Hours Viewed: 625.5 million

Who would have thought that Christmas 2021 was going to be hijacked by the English Regency: 'The Bridgertons' is one of the most powerful phenomena of the moment on Netflix, and it all started with the first season marked by a Duke (Regé Jean-Page), risqué scenes and the licking of a spoon.

The proposal, based on the literary saga of Julia Quinn (although there are some differences between the novel and the first season of 'The Bridgertons' ), hit the nail on the head in its modernized and diverse version of a series of stories that could well have written Jane Austen. But beware, this first season is not the most watched of the series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes.

4). The Bridgertons (Season 2)

Hours viewed: 656.3 million

As we said, 'The Bridgertons' is a phenomenon, and the second season came to prove it, even surpassing the numbers of its predecessor. And well, season 2 of 'The Bridgertons' is better than the first. Yes, we have said it.

There is no Duke anymore, but become Viscount: the eldest of the family took centre stage with the addition of Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), and the result was a classic enemies-to-lovers that revitalized the place and future of the series on Netflix. As with its predecessor, there were also notable differences between the novel and season 2 of 'The Bridgertons', but the truth is that they were for the better. Will the third season be able to surpass the second in this ranking?

3). La casa de Papel/ Money Heist (Season 5)

Hours Viewed: 792.2 million

The final season of 'Money Heist' was the most explosive, how could it be otherwise. Álex Pina's series said goodbye in these last episodes (premiered in two parts) solving the robbery at the Bank of Spain with many surprises, antagonists who change sides, sacrifices of those who hurt, bets on all or nothing, shootings in the middle of a pitched war... Spanish fiction did the rest in this ending that is among the most watched series in the history of Netflix. Now, the disappointing happy ending of 'Money Heist' left us with a bitter taste.

2). Stranger Things (Season 4)

Hours Viewed: 883.8 million (provisional)

And eye, that could be more! The data for the second part of the fourth season of 'Stranger Things' is still being counted (remember, they are counted up to 28 days after the premiere of each released part) and that is why it is even more impressive than it has already been placed in the second position.

That also makes it the most watched Netflix series in English in its history. This new season of the Duffer Brothers series is darker and more violent than its predecessors and leads events into the fifth (and final) season. Of course, the best moments of the end of season 4 of 'Stranger Things' will stay with us forever.

1). The Squid Game (Season 1)

Hours viewed: 1.65 billion

At the top of the podium (for now) is one of the great Streaming surprises of recent years. "The Squid Game" arrived without making too much noise and in a matter of three weeks, it became an unprecedented phenomenon throughout the world. Your key to success?

A surprising plot, a fierce capitalist critic, a narrative that adds tension to each game, an aesthetic (especially the costumes) that is very recognizable and easily replicable (for Halloween), and a protagonist on his path to redemption... The series created by Hwang Dong-hyuk has been a triumph for Netflix, and the second season of 'The Squid Game' is already on the way.
