The much-awaited crime suspense thriller Janaawar - The Beast Within was released on Zee5 on September 26, 2025. Directed by Sachindra Vats, Janaawar revolves around an SI Hemant Kumar who comes from a lower caste but just a day before his holiday he gets a major murder case to solve on priority.

The answer is no. Despite the set up being so realistic, Janaawar - The Beast Within on Zee5 is an original story and not based on any real life case.
The series revolves around a small town of Chhand where casteism is at its peak. Just one before the start of his holidays, SI Hemant Kumar gets a disturbing murder case to solve. The Police finds out a burnt and decayed body.
At the end, it was found out that a tea seller who used to serve tea in the Police station is a killer who has murdered several people in the village.
The name of killer is Kailash. Kailash confesses of killing 7 to 8 men in the village over greed of money, gold, and to keep his daughter's wishes fulfilled.
The answer is no. Just like the story, the entire character of Kailash is fictional in nature.
Talking about serial killer, in 2024, a case came of a serial killer named Ram Sarup, who allegedly murdered 11 people within a span of 18 months in Punjab after offering lifts and then robbing them. The accused was identified as 33-year-old Ram Saroop, a resident of Chaura village of Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur.
According to the police, the victims were all men with whom he engaged in sexual acts, mainly after offering them lifts. The accused then robbed the men and killed them after altercations or refusal by victims to give him the money. Officials said that in most cases, the accused strangled his victims with a piece of cloth, while in other cases, they died of head injuries.
