Reliance and Walt Disney owned streaming giant faces an issue, with several users complaining of disrupting access to movies, TV shows, and live events. Some users reported that they were not able to see the search icon on the JioHotstar app, others said they encountered the “Something went wrong” error message. Few even reported about the lack of clarity in videos despite of having good wifi connection.

What did JioHotstar say?

In response to outage by several frustrated users, the official statement was made. “Due to some unforeseen technical issue, some of our users may have issues while streaming content or accessing the platform. Appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issue. We regret the inconvenience caused,” said the statement . However later in another statement JioHotstar said, "Hi! The issue was temporary and has been resolved now. Please try accessing the app again. If the issue persists, please let us know. Happy streaming!"

What was the problem faced by the users?

The disruption as reported was extensive and affected both mobile and smart TV users. The issues ranged from failed logins and continuous buffering to an outright inability to load the platform. In many cases, only limited sections such as Home and Sports remain accessible, while other categories-like TV Shows, Movies, and OTT Originals-are completely non-functional.
