Sangeeta Phogat exits the Rise and Fall show midway after learning of her father-in-law's death/demise.
Sangeeta Phogat, an Indian wrestler and a notable contender on the Rise and Fall show, decided to leave the show after learning about the death of her father-in-law, Balwant Punia. Ashneer Grover's reality show 'Rise and Fall,' which airs on OTT platform MX Player, has recently gained popularity.

After knowing about her father-in-law's demise, Sangeeta Phogat broke down and decided to withdraw from the competition immediately.
In the latest episode, Sangeeta was brought into the library room and told about the tragic family emergency. She then began to sob uncontrollably.
As she shared the news and the decision to quit the program, her other contestants were stunned and attempted to console her.
"Sangeeta is one of the strong contestants, and her support was great during the show," said contender Arush, adding, "After the rise and fall show, he will undoubtedly keep in contact."
This show was aired on September 6,2025 and Sangeeta Phogat’s participation was the evidence of her versatile talent.
Bajrang Punia, an Indian freestyle wrestler and politician, is married to Sangeeta Phogat. His father, Balwan Singh Punia, died on September 11, 2025, at Jhajjar.

During a conversation with the other candidates on the show, Sangeeta revealed how significant his support was to Bajrang's wrestling career and how he always treated her like his own daughter when they married.
As she left the show, she gave each contestants a hug.
Balwan Singh Punia's last ceremonies were performed in Khudan, Jhajjar home village of Punia family. The entire wrestling community is in mourning and remembering his role in Bajrang's Olympic achievement.
