After delivering power-packed web series and movies like Special 26, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter and The Bengal Chapter, film-maker Neeraj Pandey is now bringing another Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web.
Slated to be released on Netflix on January 14, 2026, Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web is among the most-awaited series of 2026.
Directed by Raghav Jairath, Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web revolves around Custom officers of India, specially around Superintendent Arjun Meena.
Since Neeraj Pandey's web series are often based on reality, fans are digging deep into Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web True Story or Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web Real Story.
The answer is yes and no at the same time. While the series is said to have been inspired by some real smuggling cases, the storyline of various Custom officers including Superintendent Arjun Meena is said to be fictional.
The makers have also not mentioned in the teaser that it is inspired by real events. However, Neeraj Pandey's series often not mention based on true story tagline but brings some near reality cases.
