Couple Was on Way to Gurdwara Bhaura Sahib
A tragic road accident on the Jagraon-Sidhwan Bet road claimed the life of a 60-year-old man and left his wife seriously injured late Tuesday night.
The deceased, identified as Jaswant Singh, was travelling on a motorcycle with his 58-year-old wife, Gurdeep Kaur. The couple was reportedly on their way to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Bhora Sahib when a Scorpio car approaching from behind allegedly rammed into their motorcycle.
The impact caused both Jaswant Singh and Gurdeep Kaur to fall onto the road.
Man Succumbs to Injuries, Wife Referred to Ludhiana
Jaswant Singh sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was rushed to a private hospital in Jagraon along with his wife, where they received initial medical treatment before being shifted to a government hospital.
However, doctors at the hospital declared Jaswant Singh dead.
Gurdeep Kaur also suffered serious injuries. Considering her condition, doctors referred her to Ludhiana for further treatment.
Scorpio Occupants Took Injured Couple to Hospital
Following the accident, the girls travelling in the Scorpio reportedly stopped and helped take the injured couple to the hospital.
The incident left the victim's family in deep shock after they were informed about the accident and Jaswant Singh's death.
Family Seeks Investigation Into Accident
Jaswant Singh's brother has demanded a proper investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The family is seeking clarity over how the collision occurred and has urged the authorities to take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation.
