Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is scheduled to visit the Akal Takht in Amritsar on January 15. Earlier the CM was to appear before the Takht at 10:00 AM on January 15, but now as per a new directive issued by the Akal Takht the timing of the visit has been pushed to 4:30 PM instead of 10:00 AM.
The decision has been taken in view of CM Mann’s statement mentioning that the President Draupadi Murmu has a program in Amritsar on January 15, but he assured that instead of attending the event he would appear before the Akal Takht. The decision to reschedule his appearance was made in light of this statement.
The Chief Minster had said that he would go to the Akal Takht barefoot. He had also requested the Jathedar to arrange for a live telecast of the proceedings so that everything remains transparent and the public remains in loop.
