A devastating story is coming from Jalandhar where a five-year-old girl has been murdered by her own father. As per the information, the young girl’s mother was not at home when the incident took place. Reports say that the girl was crying and asking for food and allegedly the father could not tolerate her crying sound. Annoyed by the weeping child the father strangled his own child, silencing her forever.
This tragic incident took place in Doordarshan Enclave. The police have already arrested the accused father who has been identified as Arvinder Singh. The family originally hails from Chhattisgarh and have been living in Doordarshan Enclave for some time now. Reportedly, the accused worked as a daily wage laborer who was also a drug addict due to which the family had constantly been in dire straits. The child’s uncle, Himmat Kumar has filed a complaint with the police and an immediate action was taken by arresting the accused father.
In the complaint, Arvinder Singh was accused of being a drug addict and being in a drunk state most of the time. The accused worked as a daily wage laborer while his wife worked in houses to support the family. The incident took place on February 3, when the victim girl’s mother had gone to work and only Arvinder and the child were at home. It was around 2:30 PM when Arvind was drinking alcohol when the girl started crying because she was hungry. As per reports, the accused initially tried to silence the girl by pouring alcohol into her mouth and then bashed her into the ground. However, the girl continued to cry, as Arvind was repeatedly throwing her to the ground and lost his temper. Later, he strangled the girl killing her on the spot. The mother learned about her daughter’s death when she returned home and was left devastated.
Currently the accused is in police custody and further probe is underway.
